Panasonics Cobalt Lithium-Ion batteries benefit from a lower internal resistance (electrical loss) than manganese lithium , which are the most widely used lithium batteries. High electrical efficiency lets cobalt lithium batteries deliver greater output than manganese lithium batteries. Cobalt lithium batteries are also less prone to increases in temperature than manganese lithium batteries , helping to prevent shortening of service life due to heat. The overcharge prevention sensor fitted to Panasonic Lithium drills works to prevent overdischarging , discharge of the battery until voltage falls below a minimum threshold,a disadvantage of lithium ion cells.The system cuts off power to the motor before the battery voltage falls too low and flashes a warning lamp on the tools control panel to notify the user.
