A Camping & Hiking Adventure Wearing My Snickers Workwear

It was February the 25th and my wife’s friends had organized a camping trip were we would be doing some hiking then pitch our tents along the way, yes you might think it sounds fun and it probably would have been had it not been winter and the wettest and coldest one on record for many years, with hindsight that would have been great information to have for everybody that went before they packed their clothes for the trip but sadly for some member of the holiday it was not. Now I can act smug at this point as I had thought before we left this might get cold so I packed my Snickers Workwear which turned out to be a god send, I must added at this point that me taking my work wear didn’t go down well with the wife before we left as she thought I would embarrass her by wearing my working clothes as they were to be honest a little bit stained from Tarmac as I build motorways for a living this is an unfortunate pit fall of the job.

A few days before we were due to leave and meet up with everybody on the Friday evening I washed my Snickers Workwear jacket and trousers with my spare set and hid them in the boot of my car so that I wouldn’t have to hear my wife constantly moan about me taking them with us on our hiking and camping adventure a devious trick you might say but as it turned out a master stroke.

Friday came along and it was a bright and sunny day my wife in a smug voice remarked to me about how silly I was to think about bringing my Snickers Workwear as it was hot and sunny and I would of looked an idiot, we set off to the motor way services for a spot of breakfast with everybody else that was going and on secret inspection by myself of the other I couldn’t help noticing the attire that they wear wearing, most of it great for a summers stole but completely inadequate for any change in the weather there clothes consisted of slacks or tracksuit trousers wooly jumpers, hooded tops or cardigans and light rain weather macks or non waterproof jackets nobody wearing Snickers Workwear that’s for sure, this is going to be fun if the weather changes I thought to myself.

We arrived at our destination in the beautiful Lake districts to commence with our hiking and camping adventure, so as my wife went to talk to her friends I sneakily put work wear waterproof jacket and trousers plus the spare pair of Snickers Workwear I had brought for the misses in the rucksack that I would be carrying so she wouldn’t notice the extra weight, after about 20 minutes discussing our root off we went walking up a lovely nature trail, the idea we had when we left base camp was to walk for about five hours then pitch the tents to enjoy a cozy night of food and wine around a camp fire, after about 4 hours into the hike a few small rain drops started to come down and very big black clouds started to form, so I took my Snickers Workwear out of my rucksack to the horror of my wife and put them on, 20 minutes later what I thought might happen did but with a lot more severity, the heavens just opened and people were soaked and shivering while I happily carried on with a spring in my step as I turned around to my good lady and offered her the spare pair of Snickers Workwear I had brought for her.
